I am a small business owner who was frustrated with trying to communicate my business goals, advertising ideas and concepts to web designers with little or no business background. I always felt like these web designers were listening to me through the filters of what they could make their web pages do (performance wise...flash, sound, etc.) instead of listening to me with a "business head".

Talking with these web designers felt exactly like having the telephone directory advertising person tell me how they were going to increase my business revenues by convincing me to spend 650.00 per month on a 1/4 page ad in their directory.
The only person who was going to make more money on that deal was the advertising agent! ARRGH!

Most small businesses, groups and organizations don't need a big, fancy, expensive website using costly special effects which can be annoying and distracting. (my opinion)
Some web designers will insist that you need these special features to keep your audience interested.
Quite the contrary...keep it simple and keep it current.

Most visitors to your website are looking for quick access to your information and don't care about a "museum quality" web page.
